Eva Korte started, together with her team, the development of COS for epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and initiated the COSEB initiative. She developed the COSEB roadmap. They gathered international experts in the field, ensured all stakeholders were involved and are very inclusive for the patient voice with the international patient organization DEBRA. For the development to COS in EB they divided the disease in 4 subtypes. Eva summarized all the existing evidence concerning current outcome used and showed the current heterogeneity in outcomes for EB. She organizes the COSEB meetings online and in person and presented her work with fantastic powerpoint presentations already in many national and international meetings. She delivers high-quality work, works very independently, has a high level of precision and is a true collaborator. She inspires others who are specialized in bullous diseases of the skin to work on the COS. She is active in further developing and improving the Chord Cousin Collaboration. Eva Korte defended her thesis October 20, 2025.

Barry is an inspirational patient advocate in the field of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). He is President of HS Ireland and a Steering Committee member of HiSTORIC, the HS core outcome set. Dr McGrath holds a science PhD but, in keeping with his humility despite his many achievements, he avoids being referred to as ‘doctor’. He has authored more than 20 publications in the field of HS, including being first author of several papers. Barry is an exemplary colleague, always contributing when asked and being an excellent team player. He is able to represent the whole HS patient community, distilling his extensive experience supporting others with HS into succinct, insightful comments in group discussions. Barry always has important elements to add in consensus work, while never dominating the discussions and encouraging others to contribute. He is an exemplar of best practice in the field of patient advocacy. |
